We all have heard from our childhood days that, “don’t forget to have your breakfast since it is the most essential meal of the day”. If we take a closer look at the word “Breakfast” one can understand its significance. Breakfast means “breaking the fast”. After a long gap (which is generally 12 hours after having dinner) our human body remains starved for food. Therefore nutritional experts suggest starting a day with properly balanced nutritional diets that refuel our body. But we tend to get bored of breakfast if we repeat the same thing on a daily basis. It eventually leads to skip breakfast altogether.

Variety can make our life much enjoyable. So if you are little aware of the nutritional values of various food items then you can easily start your day by having tasty and healthy breakfast every time without being bored. There are several healthy and appealing breakfast ideas, which I want to share with my readers.

We all know porridge contains huge proportion of protein plus fiber. It also helps to keep our stomach full for hours. If someone is going through some weight loss regime, then Porridge can be a great breakfast item. Doctors also advise to eat porridge, in case patients are suffering from high cholesterol as it helps to lower cholesterol level.

You can make your porridge breakfast tastier by adding honey, fruits, and nuts.

Wholegrain cereals are also found to be very healthy options for those who want fiber-rich diets. You can have these cereals with skimmed milk or soya milk. Your breakfast can be enhanced with sliced bananas or berries. This not only helps to keep your digestive system in order but you can also prevent heart diseases. I always recommend reading the nutritional fact labels carefully during purchasing any cereal products; it will help to choose the right option.

You can enjoy this yummy breakfast without sacrificing your diet plans. Just add a low fat yogurt with some low sugar muesli and fruit. It is delicious, takes no time to prepare.

This is an authentic Spanish breakfast. You just need to peel the outer skin of some tomatoes. For that you will have to cut a cross on the top and bottom of the tomatoes. Then soak the tomatoes in boiling water few minutes. You will be able to peel the skin very easily then. After that whizz in your blender and serve it over a slice of French bread (baguette) and toast it lightly under the grill. It tastes delicious if served with a drizzle of olive oil and a pinch of salt.

Omelet’s are one of the most favorite breakfast ideas of all time. It takes only few minutes to prepare and there are many variations of omelet’s recipes. For example: mushroom omelets are very tasty. You can make cheese omelets also and serve it with toast.

Healthy And Tasty Mushroom Omelet Recipe

Ingredients:
2 Eggs
2 tblsp chopped Button Mushroom
5 small sized chopped Onion (Pyaj)
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp White Pepper Powder
2 tblsp Butter
a pinch of Mustard Powder

How to make mushroom omelette:

  • Beat the eggs thoroughly along with the salt, pepper powder , mustard powder and the chopped small onions.
  • Heat a little of the butter in a pan and add the washed and sliced button mushrooms.
  • Toss in the butter for 2 minutes. remove the mushrooms and keep aside.
  • Melt the remaining butter in a non stick pan over a medium flame and add the beaten eggs to it.
  • Spread evenly around the pan and sprinkle the mushrooms on top.
  • When one side is cooked slowly fold the omelette into half with a wooden spoon.
  • Remove from the flame and serve hot.

Great food ideas for breakfast. You're right that eating breakfast refuel our body and our brain. Skipping breakfast is a bad idea because you may feel so hungry that when lunch time comes, you over-eat or maybe you choose foods that are not the healthiest choices. Very useful and interesting hub! Voted up!

Porridge and muffins; two things I enjoy eating but have forgotten about over time. Thanks for the reminder...one word of suggestion...add to your profile so people have a better sense of who you are. It was the first thing I noticed when I started following you; people need to invest in the writer in some way; feel that they know them in some way. Of course, I may just be full of it too.

Hi, bmukherji. These are great ideas. The very idea of skipping breakfast doesn't appeal to me. I never can b'coz I am hungry 1st thing in the morning. I'm fond of porridge and egg omlette. Would like to try the mushroom omlette and the tostada.

BTW can u put in a recipe hub for making mushroom omlette.
